Chenxi Cao

Chenxi Cao Ph.D. in Chem. Eng.
Dr. Cao was born in Guangxi (China) in May, 1989. He received his bachelor's and doctor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2012 and 2017, respectively. He joined the Research Laboratory of Prof. Yi-Fan Han at East China University of Science and Technology in July, 2017. He is engaged in multi scale catalytic reaction engineering, energy and chemical research design calculation, the reaction kinetics and model of process intensification, theoretical methods include computational fluid mechanics in porous medium, the continuous transfer - reaction model, heterogeneous catalysis, micro dynamics DFT. His research results are published in mainstream international and domestic journals including Chem. Eng. Sci., Chem. Eng. J., Fuel., AIChE. J., chemical engineering journal and other mainstream journals. Besides, he has published 9 SCI/EI papers and 7 International Conference papers. As the head of the project, he takes on 1 projects of China's postdoctoral science foundation, 1 items of Shanghai Youth Science and technology talent sailing program, and 1 basic research business fees of East China University of Science and Technology.

Research Interests:
1. Multiscale modeling of heterogeneous catalysis using microkinetics: Direct conversion of syngas/CO2 to valued-added products: microkinetics, operando spectroscopy and multiscale simulation; Intensified structured reactors for steam/dry reforming and partial oxidation of methane
2. Kinetics and modeling of multiphase reactions: Gas-solid chlorination of PVC; rapid pyrolysis of pulverized coal.
