About

The Lab

Welcome to the Energy & Environment Catalysis Laboratory at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST). The laboratory was established by Professor Yi-Fan Han when he joined the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering at ECUST in 2009. The research activities in the lab include direct conversion of syngas to value-added chemicals, H2O2 synthesis directly from H2 and O2, and removal of trace amounts of pollutants in water. Our laboratory has premier in situ and operando molecular characterization tools in the world, employing optical methods of Raman and FT-IR spectroscopies, for investigating various catalytic materials. The fundamental goal of these facilities is to establish the relationship of structure and performance for the catalysts. This direct correlation will allow understanding mechanisms of the designed catalysts for practical applications in energy and environmental fields.

Mission

1. To carry out world class catalysis research
2. To nurture creative scientists and engineers
3. To support energy and environmental fields in China
